About the Stories

‘ If you visit Bentham you can see where most of these stories take place. Sadly some of the landmarks may have disappeared, or changed. However the characters are all products of my imagination and are not based on any local people ( well mostly!) ‘

About the Author

Howard Matthew lives in Hest Bank near Morecambe.

He was born and brought up in the small market town of Bentham on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales.

Howard is still an active member ot ‘Looking Well Written’, the creative writing group based at Looking Well Studios in Bentham.

In 2019 he won the Roger Eagle Literary Award for prose,for the short story ‘ Farmers Don’t Dance.’ which is included in this collection.
